Education
The 6th Cavalry Museum offers an elementary, middle and high school curriculum to enhance the field trip experience of the students. The field trip and corresponding activities meet Georgia Performance Standards. We also offer two traveling trunks focusing on Civil War Medicine.
Social
Your church, civic or social club is invited to host your meeting, luncheon or social affair at the 6th Cavalry Museum. Enjoy a catered lunch then tour the museum or have a special showing of the 1945 Womens Army Corp (WAC) movie filmed at Fort Oglethorpe starring Lana Turner. Special rates apply based on package selected.
Military or Family Reunions
The 6th Cavalry Museum is the perfect site for your military or family reunion. Tour the museum, picnic on the grounds or in our community room, play on the polo field and take the walking tour of Barnhardt Circle. We help with the arrangements to ensure your reunion is a memorable one.
Community Meetings
Need a meeting room? The museum’s 2nd-floor community room can accommodate 120 people for meetings, meals, group tours, socials, club meetings, fund-raisers, receptions, birthday and Christmas parties. The 2nd floor is accessible to all with a wheelchair lift, handicap accessible restroom, and catering kitchen. Round tables that seat eight (8) and chairs are included in facility rental.
